We recently had the pleasure of hosting the Australian Liquor Marketers and the IBA SA Team at Beresford Estate.

It was an incredible day of collaboration and connection, where we ... hared our brand stories, showcased our visitor centres and accommodation, and explored local opportunities for mutual growth.

The day involved a productive joint business session and was finished off with a fantastic wine tasting and a delicious "feed me" lunch experience, courtesy of the amazing team at Vale Restaurant & Bar.

A huge thank you to Ryan Pearson, Tanya O'Connor and the whole SA Team for a great day!

Today our Beresford Estate team were able to spend some time with our Assistant Brand Manager, Nan Z. to develop their product knowledge. With Nan's extensive background in the wine industry, the team were able to gain some great insights and knowledge ... to be able to pass onto our consumers during wine tastings and service at the Beresford Estate.

Training and development of our employees is of high importance to us at the Bickford's Group. Not only does it ensure our employees are growing their professional and personal skills but it also means we are able to deliver the best products and service to our customers and consumers.

We were very lucky to partner with Gelista to create our very own cordial inspired flavours for our 150 years celebrations including Lime Spider and Raspberry Ripple. Barossa Valley Chocolate Company also collaborated with us to create Creamy Soda and Pink Lemonade white chocolate truffles.

Since 1874, we've been delighting consumers with our iconic Bickford's cordials, becoming a household favourite across Australia for a whopping 150 years!

We recently had a blast hosting Channel 9 at our Salisbury South facility, showing off our history, innovation, and the fantastic skills of our team. ... for the team and venue she quickly escalated to Venue Manager and has now taken up the opportunity of overseeing both the 23rd Street Distillery Venue and our Beenleigh Distillery Venue in QLD within our new Group Venues Manager position.

Hannah started with the group in August 2022 as Assistant Venue Manager for the 23rd Street Distillery in Renmark SA. With her dedication and passion ... for the team and venue she quickly escalated to Venue Manager and has now taken up the opportunity of overseeing both the 23rd Street Distillery Venue and our Beenleigh Distillery Venue in QLD within our new Group Venues Manager position.

We love seeing our employees excel and we are excited to see Hannah’s continued success with the Company and with her career.

This year marks 150 years of Bickford’s and we have some very exciting things planned for the year to celebrate, so stay tuned! ... Our team kicked of the celebrations by launching a range of nostalgic Cordial flavours. As a huge thank you to all our hard working employees who have helped Bickford’s become the iconic South Australian Brand it is today, we were thrilled to give back with celebration gift boxes.

150 years is not the only big milestone we have this year, with many employees celebrating 10, 20, 25 and even 30 years with Bickford’s in 2024. With so many reasons to celebrate this year, it’s lucky we have an endless supply of beverages to cheers with 🥂

Early October, Bickford’s Grocery were invited to participate in the 2023 Woolworths Christmas & Summer Trade Show.

The Trade Show was a unique opportunity ... for Bickford’s and other major Suppliers to showcase relevant products to the Woolworths Senior Leadership Team and all Store Managers Nationally. Patricia John, Skye McKenzie and Prue Warner went along to represent Bickford’s. This was a great opportunity for the team to showcase our exciting new flavour range of Cordials as part of the 150 Years Bickford’s Celebrations.

Last Friday at the distillery's monthly Distillery Night, we launched Beenleigh RTD's and it was an unforgettable evening. We organized a 4x4 Show & Shine event and partnered with some of the best businesses ... in QLD Lanes BBQ Rubs & Sauces provided delicious samples of their products, Insta Kombi brought their unique photobooth on wheels, and La Casetta Italian Kitchen supplied the incredible food that sold out quickly. With the help of our amazing staff and partners, it was one of our biggest and most successful nights with a perfect feedback rating for the RTD's.

We have recently had 39 of our products listed with Lotte Duty Free in Singapore including our core brands such as 23rd Street, Beenleigh, Beresford Estate & El Toro. Singapore’s Changi Airport is one of the busiest in the world ... with an estimated 55+ million passengers to pass through the 4 terminals this year, with 375K+ flight movements per year. An exciting opportunity for our key brands to be recognised by consumers all around the world. These core brands will be a feature when we participate in this month's TFWA Exhibition being held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. El Toro, 23rd Street, and Beenleigh will each have a stand promoting these brands to other potential global duty-free operators.

As we crush our final wine grapes for the 2023 harvest, we want to acknowledge our hardworking team for producing another high quality vintage!

Following a late harvest this year, we have now seen over 1499 tonnes of grapes go through the crusher, from regions varying from McLaren Vale, SA Riverland, Adelaide Hills and Barossa. We are now full swing into the winemaking process and our 2023 vintage has produced clean, full flavoured whites and well balanced reds. Looking forward to seeing how it all develops!

The Bickford’s Group is proud to have so many talented and inspirational women doing great things in all areas of our Business. Bickford’s Australia has really inspiring history in regards to women in business. Following the early death of founder William Bickford in 1850, is wife Anne Bickford was determined to carry on the family business and with 5 children ... under 10, she continued trading until 1864 when her son Harry joined the business.

Results for the UK based award show – The Gin Masters – are in, and 23rd Street Distillery have done extremely well. Taking home two Master awards, one gold and two silver medals. The Gin Masters is a competition with the aim to unearth the ‘Gin Masters’ of the world. Chaired by The Spirits Business and a panel of leading spirits specialists, the gin is judged in a blind tasting to discover the Gin Masters of 2022. Beresford Estate presents High Tea Series. Gin lovers and even gin ‘on the fence’-ers, do we have an event for you. On June 19th prepare to have an experience like no other as Beresford Estate presents High Tea Series Featuring 23rd Street Distillery Gin. This isn’t your standard stuffy high tea. We’ve done away with simple cucumber sandwiches in favour of a more elevated experience. Each part of the menu prepared by Executive Chef John Rankin has been carefully curated to either highlight the notes of the paired spirits or has 23rd St Distillery gin in the dishes themselves.

We’re very proud of our hardworking winemaking team, for receiving recognition from such a prestigious wine show on an international level. The 2022 Decanter Wine Awards have announced their results and we’re thrilled to share with you that our Galway Pipe 25 YO Rare Tawny has received 97 points and won a ‘Best In Show’ Trophy. As well as the inaugural 2016 vintage of our Beresford Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon, has received 97 points and a Platinum Medal.

THE QLD FLOOD APPEAL – The Beenleigh Artisan Distillery knows, after already being impacted by the floods in 2017 and yet again recently, that after the rains stop the clean-up will still continue for many months, and that the battle is far from over for Queenslanders and other flood affected communities. What a night at the 2021 South Australian Premiers Food and Beverage Industry awards where Vok Beverages took out the New product award (>15FTE’s) for the launch of the 23rd Street No Sugar Gin and Tonic RTD and the Export team won the Export award (>15 FTE’s). The night culminated in our MD Angelo Kotses awarding Claude Cicchiello with his Leaders Award.
